Have Mic, Will Travel

All he needs is a microphone and an opportunity, and Sam Rogers will make a memorable impression upon any audience. He has performed for enthusiastic crowds in Asia, Europe, and all over North America.

Sam is called the "One Mouth Band" for good reason. He makes all the sounds of a band by himself -- and often all at once! (Click the links on the left to listen to samples.) Much more than a simple sound-alike or novelty act, his solo vocal show is often compared to Bobby McFerrin, though his own definitive style is apparent.

Even with plenty of road-tested material, improvisation is at the core of every One Mouth Band performance. Sam enjoys connecting with listeners, in addition to entertaining them.

History & Recognition

In July of 2003 Sam won third place in both the Jazz and Pop catagories at Vokal Total (an international a cappella competition) in Graz, Austria. Not bad for the first solo vocalist ever to compete against vocal groups!

In August 2004, Sam Rogers' solo debut CD, One Mouth Band, was nominated for "Best Vocal Jazz Album" by independant music association Just Plain Folks.

As the One Mouth Band, Sam has performed / recorded with such diverse artists as Mickey Hart, Joe Satriani, DJ Qbert, Roy Rogers, and Ramblin' Jack Elliot.

Future

Sam's next solo CD, 100% Organic Human Music, will be released later this year. It will live up to its name as it signals a shift to using his voice as an instrument of peace and evolution for the betterment of humanity.

Sam is also writing a book entitled "How to be a One Mouth Band: Learn to fit 50 instruments in your mouth!" He plans to finish it in 2006 and see it released the following year.

Sam will continue tour nationally and internationally as the One Mouth Band. He will also continue to collaborate with musicians, actors, and other performers.
